Oxygen is a US digital bank with a unified app for both personal and business finances, designed for go-getters who need effective money management on the go. Our project focused on enhancing the first user experience to be as simple and seamless as possible, creating a great first impression.

Problems

Oxygen:

A small number of users completed their application

A large number of fraudsters

Small percentage of users who added funds to their account

Customers:

The product’s value is unclear

The application process lacks transparency and is not user-friendly

Expectations were not set effectively

Research

The first essential step was to analyze our current process and identify pain points throughout the flow. Working closely with the product owner, I conducted this research and presented the design-focused analysis to stakeholders.

Design process

I created JBTD (Jobs to Be Done) materials and scenarios to guide initial discussions and identify the most effective user flow.

Through iterative refinement of the wireframes and collaboration with stakeholders, we established a flow that addresses both business objectives and user needs.

Outcomes

We were about to release this feature, but unfortunately, these enhancements are on hold due to complications with the sponsor bank and company.

However, I gained valuable experience in presenting and persuading my ideas to stakeholders and the team, and in collaborating with KYC providers and a remote development team.

Also, I partnered with the design system designer, shaping and collaborating to develop a design system driven by the flow I crafted.
